1. Delete your account in the app

The fastest way is directly inside the Brainmute app:

This immediately and permanently deletes your account and all associated data from our servers. Your account can only be deleted while you are signed in, so no one else can delete it for you.

2. Delete your account by email

If you have already uninstalled the app or can no longer sign in, you can still request deletion:

Send an email to [email protected] from the email address of your Brainmute account and ask us to delete your account.

We will delete your account without undue delay and at the latest within one month of your request (Art. 12 (3) GDPR). To make sure we only ever delete the account of the person who actually owns it, we may first ask you to confirm a detail of your account.

3. What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove all personal data connected to it from our servers, including:

This cannot be undone. If you use Brainmute again afterwards, you start from zero.

4. What stays on your device

Brainmute also stores your day-to-day progress locally on your phone. Data that never leaves your device, for example your local settings and your app lock configuration, is not held on our servers. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data in your Android settings.

5. What we keep after deletion

After we delete your account, we keep only a non-identifying record that a deletion took place, consisting of a timestamp without your user identifier. We keep it so that we can demonstrate we acted on your request, in line with our accountability duty (Art. 5 (2) and Art. 17 GDPR). It does not identify you.

6. Request a copy of your data

You also have the right to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR). Send an email to [email protected] from your account address and we will respond free of charge, at the latest within one month.

7. Cost and timing

Deleting your account and requesting your data are always free of charge (Art. 12 (5) GDPR). We act without undue delay and at the latest within one month of your request (Art. 12 (3) GDPR).
